For over 40 years, Air Liquide has mastered hydrogen’s industrial chain: its production, transportation, distribution and applications.
In 2008, Air Liquide produced over 7 billion m3 of hydrogen, for revenues of 1,200 million euros. Air Liquide has increased its worldwide hydrogen production capacity by more than 50% over the last three years.
Using this industrial know-how, the Group has made a commitment to opening the way for hydrogen energy.
In 2001, Air Liquide created its subsidiary AXANE to develop, manufacture and market fuel cells.
Today, the Group develops hydrogen service stations to fuel the demonstration fleets of automobile manufacturers and the company coordonates international programs that enable privileged users to test these new technologies while familiarizing a broader public with the use of this new energy.
