From June to September 2008, Air Liquide is the official technical supplier of the European Nissan Tour. Air Liquide has installed the fuel stations and supplied the hydrogen that are necessary for Nissan’s fuel cell vehicle (XTrail) demonstrations.
This partnership is based on two axes:
Hydrogen is a promising alternative energy carrier. Used in a fuel cell, hydrogen combined with oxygen from air generates electricity and produces only water as a byproduct. Hydrogen can be extracted from a large variety of natural resources (natural gas, coal, water or biomass…). Although 95% of hydrogen is produced from natural gas, the diversity of sources from which hydrogen can be obtained guarantees the security of supply.
Hydrogen can therefore constitute a renewable, clean and quiet energy carrier for powering the car of tomorrow.
